SHORT REPORT ON CURRENT SITUATIO OF THE COUNTRY:-

By Deggera

1. Majority of the people are un able to exist specially in big cities like Finfinee. They are unable to eat even once a day. Because of this around some areas day robbery and looting have stated. There is high poverty situation. In Finfine alone it is estimated the are about 500,000 University graduates without job who have stayed without job for over three years.

2. Merchants were highly taxed. They were asked beyond what they got. Besides of their heavy tax payment they were forced to buy bonds for Abay construction.  As a result, most of them returned their licenses by paying the amount they were asked.

 4. All Banks were forced to contribute money for Abay dam construction, additionally they were also instructed to buy bonds by 27% of their loan portfolio

3. Beside heavy tax payment, they forced to contribute for portfolio. This means any time they give loan of Br 1,000,000 they are required to buy bond by Br. 270,000.

5. They are also required to deposit 25% of their total deposit at National Bank.

6. As a result all Banks went bankrupt. Today they are not in a position to lend Br. 1,000,000.

7. Because of this exporters, importers, construction workers and all other who want money from the Banks have stacked.

8. The current cities and towns Liz policy of Woyane have very much frustrated the people, because it puts all land under Liz. For example if you want sell your house you only sell the wall and roof, the land and its location value is sold by the Woyane according to the policy. Some people say Woyane is digging its grave fastly .Day by day what Woyane is doing including its “shibretegna awaj”and others has initiating to topple Woyane from power.

9.Woyane got printed 50 b/n Birr that was distributed in the market through its loyal members which exacerbated inflation rate by more than 59 %. To the contrary, even though woyane claims to have registered 11.4 economic growth there is production that much demand. Still they buy wheat , enable oil, sugar and other commodities which are only distributed in an insignifact amount among its members and supporters only.

9. No independent judiciary system and media.

10. Totally, Woyane is not in a position to rule the country.

              WHAT WOYANE IS DOING CURRENTLY

1. Wayne’s system of government is divided and rule system i.e. Macavelian style. They divide the people by ethnic, by region, by religion ,by age by sex etc. They propagate that one nation or tribe is the enemy of the other and they say that in their absence the county will not exist.

2. At the same time do to their fear, they have organized their security systems in millions and most of the country’s resources used for security, military and federal police.

3. Youths in Finfinne, what they used to call them “bozens” are today organized by the Woyanes to be their party members as youth league others as women’s league. Also they given them minor jobs like coble stone ,hollow blocket production ,carpentry, and other small handcraft jobs so that it enable Woyane to control them very closely. These organizations also work as security personnel. They report daily about their soundings. Every 10 member have got one leader who accepts the reports, and reports upward to his assigned boss. These woyane security systems are organized throughout the county.

4.  In Finfinee majority of the Federal Police member are from Southern Nations and Nationalities, especially from Wolaita and some from Gambela, of course, all the leaders are Tigrians.

THE ROLE OF INTELLECTUALS IN THE COUNTRY

1.  Intellectuals seem to have chosen to aloof or indifferent from the people’s struggle except very few old individuals.

2.  These intellectual are educated by the people’s money, but they are not supporting the freedom struggle of their people. Much has to be done around them.

WHAT IS TO BE DONE TO ENHANCE PEOPLES STRUGLE TO AVOID WOYANE?

1.   People are fed up of Woyane. They want to get red of it, but they want someone or an organization who can give them guidance. Mass always needs leader/s. People are mentally and psychologically ready. Simply they want directions. People have got international experience from the struggle of Tunisians, Egyptians and Libyans peoples.

2.  Even the majority of the Tigrai people do not want woyane, except very few beneficiaries of the system.

3.  When movement starts, woyane may take harsh measures like mass killing, it is that time when counter attack from OLF places a significant role. I think it also magnifies OLF’s recognition nationally and internationally.

4.  Contacting reliable Oromos to standby the side of OLF by contributing money and by mobilizing the Oromo masses so that it takes part actively in the struggle to remove woyane from power with minimum sacrifice.
