Radio Afuura Biyyaa: Interview with Rev. Dr. Tasgara Hirpo
Rev. Dr. Tasgara is a priest, a scholar, an author and a human rights activist. He is one of few Oromos who dared to write in Afan Oromo when the cost of doing so was bitter. He authored more than 7 books in Afan Oromo. Some of his books have been translated to other languages, including German. This year, at the age of 78, he published two books – namely “Geerarsa Oromoo” and “Kuusaa Maqaa Oromoo.”
As a human right activist, he follows closely the human rights abuses of the Ethiopian regime and exposes its brutality to the international community. In recent years, he had established an organization called the “Human Rights Group of East Africa.”
