Revolt against subjugation has continued: Qeerroo pro-democracy movement stepped up in Nedjo, Wallaga province

(Qeerroo Report, Nedjo, August 04, 2011)

Qeerroo pro-democracy movement for freedom has spread out in Oromia; the Oromo youth in Nedjo Wallaga province stepped up the movement for freedom and democracy. On August 03, 2011, leaflets and other written documents, with a cite note recognising the life of Oromo which is deprived or swindled by the TPLF government become distributed and widespread in the city and rural areas of Nedjo. The document also makes reference about the escalated movement of Qeerroo National Youth Movement for Freedom and Democracy. The youth has organised themselves in groups and distributed the documents in all key areas, including hotels and government’s offices in the district.

The distributed documents have cited three main issues regarding the contemporary life tendencies in Oromia. These are: 1) taxation burden and the largest galloping inflation which is putting pressures on Oromo people, coerce pressure on poor Oromo farmers through unfair land use policy, the looting strategy of TPLF regime in Oromia, etc. 2) Issues about Oromo Liberation Front (OLF), 3) Issues about the objectives and strategies of Qeerroo National Youth Movement for Freedom and Democracy. Some of the main areas where all these documents posted and distributed include:

  1. Markets and different shops
  2. Yerosan Hotel
  3. Tirunesh Hotel
  4. Wakwayya Hotel
  5. L/Colonel Abdissa Aga School
  6. Private and Public Colleges
  7. Public bus station in the city
  8. Post Office
  9. Government Offices
  10. Commercial Bank
  11. Private residence areas

As a reason of the widespread post and distribution of these written documents, the TPLF militias, cadres and securities ruined the normal people’s activity by closing many public pedestrian paths as well as roads in the city. On top of that, the securities went to different hotels and private residences and caused instabilities. They chased out and arrested many Oromo youths, workers and farmers. The in and out movement to the city has also been destructed by the control of government securities. Intense control has been set out in order to check youths and other peoples coming in to the city.

Because of internet connection problem we couldn’t be able to upload pictures taken while securities chasing people and causing instabilities, and we took pictures also when the public gathered together and read the distributed and posted documents. We promise to upload them in the future.

The struggle shall continue and the oppressor will fall!

  1. Dear qeerroo,

we are really proud of you on what you are doing for the previalance of freedom and democracy in Oromia. we, your brothers and sisters all over the world are on your side, and together with you in our heart.

But one important thing is, I appreciate that you took some pictures on human right abuse, but if you can make it Video, it would be easier to publicise the human right abuse that the brutal regime is undertaking on oromo people. So try to take video from your mobiles or some other smaller aparatus as much us you can. I know, it might not be easiter for you, but it has a great value to publisize what’s happening right now.

keep up your great and respected work!

History never forgets your great job !

  2. Qeerroo! I am you make most of us to take pride in you. Keep the good work and more work on cooperation with your parents. keep in mind the cost is to high and you have been paying it any way with your precious life. my advice to you is that keep great secrecy. here out of the country all ethiopians clam to be one, yet there in none like you oromo Qeerroo pay the price. they may think you are naive, you fight, persecuted, denied right to education and employment. After all when you claim your freedom they expect to come to power sharing or even take over.
i will explain what I think is going on with oromo sellers and chauvinistic movement.
    victory to Oromo

    long live Qeerroo

No possible this nity man, Meles, rule over our properties and lives. He is now devoting to teach his nity falks to learn Orominya in Mekele as he know Oromyia is the core of his life. Why he did not try to teach Tigrinya in Oromya Universities? He know we do not need and it is a waste of time. Of course knowing your enemies language has great adevantage to defit your enemy!!!! Let us apply to distance education to learn tigrinya too. Meles thinks we can not think but we think beyond what he thinks we are inteligent 10 folds of his falks but one thing we miss, the unity the cruelity of Meles is going to bring to us shortly.
