Massive Arrest of Oromo Students Intensified: At Least 66 Detained in Northern Shoa Alone

At least 66 Oromo students and other peaceful civilians of Southeastern Shoa zone, Wonchi County [Woreda] have been detained by the TPLF-Ethiopian regime under the pretext that the students may have been involved in the popular resistance going on in the area. Among those arrested the names of 25 individuals which leaked from the jail and received by Qeerroo news are given below.

  3. Shukkare Abbaba,  9th grade
  4. Tsehay Kumsa, 9th grade
  5. Abbaba Warqine,  9th grade
  6. Dajane Turuna,  12th grade
  7. Gennet Dirriba, 8th grade
  8. Tseggaye Asfawu, 9th grade
  9. Biranu Damisse, 10th grade
  10. Tafarra Hayilu, 9th grade
  11. Ayyantu Waquma, 6th grade
  12. Malkamu Dassaleny, 9th grade
  13. Wandu Lencho, 12th grade
  14. Shifarra Tasfaye, 9th grade
  15. Magartu Taddasa, 9th grade
  16. Siddisee Shumama, 9th grade
  17. Yadata Walde, 10th grade
  18. Gashaw Alamu, 10th grade
  19. Wandu Hasen, 9th grade

20. Ejjigayyo Qabbanessa, 9th grade

21. Gulumma Tolera, 9th grade

22. Shawul Wolde-Rufa’el, Diploma graduate, age 42

23. Balacho Asmara, 9th grade

24. Tolera Badhadha, elderly, age 70+

25. Takkala Badhadha, 9th grade

Moreover, an Amharic copy containing the names of 41 other Oromo students and citizens arrested from the same area is shown below. This copy is obtained from the prison house of the area and we publish the list as it is.
