(Qeerroo, 20th of July 2011, Finfinnee) Indulged in the fear of mass uprising that consumed the dictatorial regimes in the Northern Africa and shaking the Arab Lands, The TPLF/EPRDF government has waged a huge number of public owned companies, corporations and other properties transfer to private ownership.
According to reliable inside sources, the ‘senior cadre members of TPLF / EPRDF’ were given one or more companies with out any cost.
Uncertain and confused with the creative Qeerroo mass uprising, that is going across all class of the people and reaching all places in the country, the government have decided to handover the public properties to its senior cadres, convincing themselves of, ‘once an uprising started government properties will be looted’.
Accordingly the government have declared the previously ‘Government Development Agencies’ as if they are now owned by the ‘Private Owners’. What is more they have started to change the codes of the vehicles from Code 4, which shows public properties to Codes 3, designating them of private properties. What is more, they are being tagged as Share Companies, PLC and others to show they no more belongs to the public.
Some of the public properties of the country currently confiscated by the TPLF/EPRDF cadres for personal wealthy includes:
1. Ethiopian Shipping Lines
2. Ethiopian Dry Port Agency
3. Artistic Printing Press
4. Bedelle Beer factory
5. Harar Beer Factory
6. Ambo Mineral Water
7. Dire Dawa Food Complex
8. Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation
9. Qalitti Steel Factory
10. Sabata Agro Industry
11. Ethiopian Water Construction Company
12. Government Hotels
13. Harar Aid and Development Organization
14. Ethiopian Railways trading
15. Ethiopian Civil Service College
16. National Theatre
17. Birhan nad Selam Printing
18. Ethiopian Tourism Agency
19. National Cigarette Company
20. National Motors Corporation
21. Ethiopian Coffee Forest Forum
22. Ethiopian Leather Company
23. International Trading Manufacturing and Service
24. Ethiopian Public Health Agency
25. Ethiopian Pulp and Paper Organization
26. Fana Broadcasting Corporate S.Co
27. Fil Wuha
28. Aqaqi Cloth factory
29. Addis Mojo Oil Factory and other are worthy to be mentioned.
Some of these properties being looted are to be estimated in millions if not billions of dollars. According to Qeerroo informants, the properties being looted are much more and serious questions and concerns are being raised in relation to the status of Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, Ethiopian Water Authority, Ethiopian Commercial Bank, Some Hotels, Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopian Airport Authority, Ethiopian Seeds Agency, Ethiopian Import and Exporting Agency and much more. The level of looting and public funds being directed to private accounts is very disturbing and shocking as some insiders underlined.
Some of the critical questions the public are asking includes:
1. What are the public properties and companies the state currently owns, how did they turned to private ownership, by who and on what legal grounds.
2. Who are the board members of the companies that are making billions of Dollars, does any one know the amount and level of funds and properties being looted in these companies
3. Can any one tells the status and wealth of many hand picked Tigreans in relation to the normal life of the Ethiopian People and their background to 20 ago, how did some individuals become millionaire and billionaires in a matter of few years while currently 4.5 million people are dying of hunger in Ethiopia
Unfortunately the answer from the side of repressive regimes in Ethiopia turned to be more and sophisticated looting, imprisonment, kidnapping, forced exiling, torture and killing. This draconian Stalinist rule resulted in taking families from children’s and letting families without children’s. It has now reached the level that no one in the country is able to tolerate the inhumane and brutal rule of Meles Zenawi and the way forward is to only to struggle in unison.
Woyanne is stealing everything from Ethiopians, because it does not rely in knowledge aquiring and working for their living, they prefer to stay looters for ten years than learn a skill or two for a year.
